Ben Van Der Zwaan

I'm writing this in English because this message will likely be viewed across many continents.

A few words about my beloved father… Ben’s funeral service on saturday,
october 24th, 2009 was absolutely amazing! Maaike Widdershoven sang,
ace Pella, the Dutch version of “There is a place for us”
(from West-Side Story). It was a very emotional yet
beautiful way to start this somber farewell service.

After that there were four very touching speeches delivered by: Felix, Jan, Loo and Wim. Concluded
with more music and an opportunity to say goodbye for all friends and family attending (well over
250 people over two days).

It was very emotional, touching and beautiful all at the same time. It's hard to put in words but
the way the service played out was truly above and beyond our expectations!

Dad would have loved it this way in my opinion. Ben's bright smile and optimistic outlook on life
will be missed immensely but the way he danced through life and his beautiful spirit will remain in
our hearths forever.

Thanks for the outpouring of support from all over the globe! It will never be forgotten!

Last but not least…please send a card or call my mom one of these days. She really needs the
support of her friends at this very difficult point in her life.

Many thanks to all that made the service such wonderful remembrance of our beloved father. Including
everyone who send e-mails, cards and flowers.
